David Tyson Biography
David Tyson: Is the Artistic Director of his own Weaver of Tales Theatre. He holds an MFA in Acting from Case Western Reserve University; a Master's Degree in Communication & Leadership from Park University and is a graduate of the, Dell'Arte School of Physical Theatre, in California. He is also a certified actor combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. He has performed at various theaters, festivals, fairs, and schools around the USA including performances at: The La MaMa Theater, Walt Disney World, Rowan University, and the Toronto Fringe festival.
Mr. Tyson is also an educator and teaching artist and has taught at numerous schools, theaters, and colleges. He has directed, coached, and choreographed both professionals and would-be professionals throughout the NJ, NY, and VA area. His original works have been presented at the Richmond Shepard Theater, Union County Performing Arts Center, and NJ Repertory Theater. He has also been commissioned to work with numerous schools and organizations to develop programs on such specific issues as bullying, harassment, and cultural diversity.
David has worked with literally thousands of students to develop their communication skills in the areas of public presentation, verbal, non-verbal, listening, perception shaping, interpersonal, intercultural, leadership, and small group presentation.
Mr. Tyson is constantly exploring how the performing and communication arts can act as a medium to entertain, educate, and enlighten us.
